Our client is looking for an Compliance Officer

Client Details:

Description
Conduct compliance monitoring activities, provide guidance and support to business units on relevant laws and regulations, including conducting impact analyses and developing responses to new regulations
Aid in the creation and execution of control mechanisms, such as participating in the New Product Approval process by ensuring new products and business initiatives comply with regulatory requirements and reviewing marketing materials for adherence to standards.
Stay informed about regulatory developments to assess the relevance and implications of upcoming Belgian and European regulatory changes.
Ensure that global and local compliance policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect regulatory changes and industry best practices.
Assist in executing ad-hoc and key compliance projects, ensuring timely resolution of regulatory or internal investigations and inquiries.
Perform regular compliance monitoring, considering various contextual data such as regulations, policies, procedures, controls, training, and governance structures, and escalate and address any identified gaps.
Review alerts related to employee surveillance.
Promote a culture of compliance awareness among staff by providing appropriate training.
Profile
In-depth understanding and practical experience with Belgian and European financial services regulations, including MiFID II, IDD, Mar, and Consumer Protection.
Familiarity with Private Banking and Corporate Banking products, ideally having previously held a Compliance Advisory role or a similar position.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Compliance or Control Functions and a university degree (preferably a Master's in Law and/or Finance).
Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
Team player committed to demonstrating high integrity in all interactions with colleagues at both country and regional Compliance levels.
Well-organized administratively with a proactive approach to addressing issues based on risk.
Excellent verbal and written skills in English, French, and Dutch.
