Based on site of 3rd party logistics provider to Caterpillar. Using analytical and operational skills and experience to successfully resolve live problem solving to maintain efficiency and throughput of a crucial operation within a large supply chain.
Reporting to European Container Cross Dock manager, the successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities, but not limited to:
Assist with resolution of receipt grief on a daily basis – working with customers and transport teams to establish key priorities
Attend and lead daily end-to-end supply chain performance review (held off site at Grimbergen GD1 building), representing the container cross dock operation and resolving any quality or velocity issues
Monitoring live changes to inbound velocity by supplier &
volume to assist with short term resource planningInvestigate, resolve &
feedback on customer claims / quality concernsReview daily &
weekly performance metrics, following up on shipments out of tolerance and/or close to toleranceCarry out FIFO and process quality audits – identifying themes and areas of improvement
First escalation for supply chain, transport teams &
customersMonitor, resolve and report on invoice grief
Support and gather data for mid/along term improvement project
Monitor KPIs related to the processing of freight through the facility.
Identify and implement operational process improvement activities.
Provide day-to-day support of consolidation/de-consolidation facility operations as needed.
Provide reporting on facility/network operations performance.
Review customer specific PKIs and host customer care meetings.
Support the BECCD cost structure from a validating point and collaboration with the logistical procurement team.
Requirements
- College or university degree or relevant demonstrated experience is required. (Preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering)
- Experience in a supply chain/operations management or transportation operations management environment.
- Ability to travel domestically &
internationally 10 - 20%
- High degree of competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Power Point).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Clear understanding of end to end facility logistics processes / Importing &
Exporting process experience or awareness is beneficial / Experience working in a facility dedicated to the consolidation and/or de-consolidation of ocean containers is beneficial
