Mission Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented System Engineer to join our dedicated Technology Department System Engineer team, consisting of about ten people, in Brussels, Belgium. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and hands-on experience in network management and Telecom operations, with a strong focus on maintaining the stability of our network infrastructure. The primary responsibilities of this role involve network management and Telecom operations, but experience in other System Engineer fields is an asset.


Responsibilities
Manage and enhance the network infrastructure, including handling routers, switches, VLANs, and WiFi access points, to ensure the robustness and performance of our infrastructure.
Implement and maintain effective network monitoring and capacity management processes, contributing to the automation of tasks for improved efficiency.
Provide necessary support in case of incidents, analysing and resolving complex technical issues as a 3rd level support resource.
Oversee the tracking and maintenance of operational solutions, creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation and procedures, and effectively communicating them to stakeholders.
Keep up-to-date with technical advances in the network domain and play an active role in the introduction and implementation of new technologies.
Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented security measures, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science or comparable training.

Skills:
A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in network management in an enterprise network environment.
Proven expertise in working with various network technologies and protocols, including a familiarity with the configuration and management of network products in Cisco technology (Switches, Routers, WiFi access points/WLC, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, VLANs).
Experienced in managing both LAN and WAN environments, providing robust and comprehensive network solutions.
Demonstrated knowledge in managing DNS technologies (both internal and external) and DHCP, ensuring optimal network configurations.
Proficient in handling and configuring Cisco VPN protocols (Site-to-Site and AnyConnect), aiding in secure and efficient network communication.
Proficiency in VoIP systems and their integration into the Cisco data network, including experience with Skype for Business, MS-Teams, the Polycom VVX and Spider Trio 8800 phone range.
Proven experience in integrating multi-cloud network environments (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Private Cloud), providing flexible and scalable network solutions.
Experience in configuring and managing Cisco WiFi access points, ensuring stable and reliable wireless connectivity.
Proficient in implementing and integrating Azure network solutions within hybrid environments, seamlessly connecting on-premises networks with the Azure cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity with copper and optical fibre cabling standards, as well as their implementation, providing physical connectivity solutions.
Proficiency in integrating telephony systems with MS-Teams, including upgrading older telephony and IVR/cascade systems to modern, comprehensive MS-Teams-based solutions.
Strong understanding of network security best practices, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of network technologies, protocols, and security to strengthen our infrastructure.
