Your Role

The Automation Engineer plays a key role in steering and optimizing the daily operations of automated end-to-end warehousing solutions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Optimizing operational efficiency by implementing a precise WMS/WCS setup to guarantee seamless and effective automation processes;
  • Work proactively with customer to anticipate on business changes (new SKUs, seasonalily, …) and balancing loads in order to support the performance of the automated solution and help maintain the operational cadence;
  • Translating operational needs (driven by KPIs) towards the suppliers and other relevant internal stakeholders (e.G. Facility, QSHE, IS team, Continuous improvement team, etc.);
  • Developing automated solutions together with internal/external team of experts in order to meet all the future engineering demands related to business changes and growth;
  • Developing layouts and flows of automated segments of warehouse with the aim to deliver the best suited end-to-end logistics concept;
  • Collaborating with Operations Management, Control Tower and the service department of the Integrator/supplier.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Master’s degree in mechatronics/electromechanical Engineering/engineering or equal level by experience, and/or practical experience in the field of automation controls or software engineering;
  • Experience in operations management and/or engineering preferably in an automated environment;
  • Strong sense of curiosity and technical interest;
    Strong analytical and (creative) problem-solving skills to be able to understand, control and influence all ins and outs of a complex technical setup;
  • Exceptional conceptual and process thinking skills, bringing innovative perspectives and the ability to streamline complex ideas into actionable strategies;
  • You are a true team player with effective interpersonal skills who is able to take the lead in project meetings;
    you are also comfortable with ambiguity and stepping out of your comfort zone while acquiring new skills;
  • Excellent command of English and Dutch.
